Hair Straightener Global Trends

Global search for hair straighteners from NZIf you want to find hair straightener trends, either locally or globally, within a time frame, then try Google Insights for Search. As long as their is sufficient search data queries in the database, you may be able to find popular hair straighteners brands, related search queries, "rising" searches, popular related news items, regional data per country, and other meaningful statistical data. You can also enter other search queries, for example brand names such as GHD or CHI flat irons to try retrieve relevant data for evaluation. Image of global Search by topfer.

Of course you could perform standard or advanced searches on the internet using Google and filter out targeted information of interest about hair irons. This is explained in my article about trying to get a "snapshot" of specific current information for the best hair straighteners, using advanced search queries and Google's Wonder Wheel and other techniques. Whereas using Google Insights produces more of an overall trend based on sufficient historical searches (up to about 6 years as of now). For example you can compare New Zealand (NZ), United Kingdom (UK) popular search queries for hair iron global trends with those of the United States (USA) or Canada (Ca).

Data trend information could quickly help in determining overseas (e.g. relative to NZ) popular hair irons and related products, to consider for purchasing. Or perhaps quickly find popular "trendy" brands that you may not have known existed. Then perform a regular Google search on that product and related results to get further information from relevant websites - such as user reviews, local suppliers, auction sites, forums, and so on. I did some searches to find out what brand of hair iron is popular (as based on Google Search database) in Google Insights to reveal the following...

Search trend chart data evaluation for flat hair irons

From Google Insights and entering the term flat hair irons for worldwide search, and time span of 2004 to 2010 (present) some interesting charts are presented: (Click charts below to expand for better view)

Flat hair irons has regional interest in USA (all regions) and Canada - but virtually absent in other regions (on a large scale)

Hair Straighteners NZ trend chart against USA CHI Flat Irons
This table indicated related terms and "rising searches" for the same search query Flat hair irons

Hair Straighteners NZ trend chart against USA CHI Flat Irons
Google Insight trend analysis indicates that CHI flat hair iron (even though CHI was not entered in the search query) is popular in USA and Canada. Not surprising perhaps, as CHI is made in USA, and probably heavily marketed (including online) country wide. Note that the top search results are "tightly" related to my original query Flat hair irons, but still include CHI and no other brand. Thus can search further either per region to try find other trends terms or information if interested, or just do a standard Google search to find relevant information relating to the CHI brand. You may find favorable CHI hair straightener reviews, newly released iron flattening CHI models, recommended styling products for CHI, price competition and specials at various web sites, since CHI displays exclusively (without further refinement) on Google Insights trend data.

Search trend chart data evaluation for hair straighteners

But interestingly if we use a similar search term such as hair straighteners, the following charts indicate quite different trends from above (again click on charts for clearer details)

Hair Straightener trends on Google Insights shows New Zealand with large number of searchers
and the related chart of "rising searches and top searches for hair straighteners as a search term...

GHD trend chart from Google Insights for hair straightener search in New Zealand
Google Insights trend analysis indicates that the GHD hair straightener is popular for the search term hair straighteners (and not CHI for that same search term). Also the country of New Zealand has the highest number of searchers, followed closely by the United Kingdom and Australia. There is however a few search queries (i.e. user interest) from USA and Canada. But GHD related searches feature prominently in the results, but with a "rising" interest in CHI and pink hair straighteners, and a few other related queries. Again with these results, one can search further on standard Google Search to gather more information, i.e. reviews, pricing, local suppliers and so on.

Trend Plot Graph for Hair Straighteners

Here is another chart from the same search query showing a trend graph from 2004 to 2010, but highlighting major news items relating to hair straighteners. Oddly their were no such news items displayed for the search term Flat hair irons.

Summary of Trends in Hair Straighteners and Flat Hair Irons
How does having this hair iron global trend data help? Well it indicates...

* That you need equivalent search terms, phrases, or synonyms when searching for a ideal or relevant hair straightener, hair iron, flat iron, or other related items. You may want to add qualifiers - e.g. "Best", "Top" "Popular" to various search terms to try get a diverse range of data from a Google Insights and Standard Google Search.
* Quickly find by country, region, and time line, a "long term" popular hair flattening iron - the wider the reach (i.e. the more global that product), then the more likely the popularity (or "otherwise") of that hair straightener.
* Also can find other hair iron brands (or anything really), and hair care products, by refining your search queries and options within the Google Insight interface - in conjunction with other search optimization relevancy techniques such as described at my post Online Search Tips for Best Hair Straighteners.
*You can get quite granular or specific results by clicking on the results themselves within the links at Google Insights. That is, you can drill down to sub regions and other categories if of interest to you about hair straighteners.
* Retrieve data from the displayed global map, by clicking about, and dragging the "time line" results.
* That you could perform further analysis stemming from the two queries that I did. For example why does CHI (and not GHD) show up for one search term and not the other? Are both hair irons equally popular? Why on one side of the world and not the other based on search trends? And why for so long? Have New Zealand residents being targeted (perhaps unknowingly) for GHD irons and not CHI? Or USA residents (state dependent) been targeted for only CHI irons? or What? Does trends really mean anything if premium prices are concerned?(which may involve it's own trend analysis) and so on...

Their are probably other scenarios to utilize hair straightener global data from Google Insights, as their are other Google search or keyword tools in addition to many other internet query search tools, news items, user reviews, forum interaction, and so on. But depending how deep you want to analyze Google trend and search results, you would benefit by getting at least a better insight globally for hair straighteners. For example, armed with trend and search knowledge, you may be a bit wiser for purchasing a specific hair iron brand based on specific internet trend results that you have retrieved. Knowledge from research helps, particularly to save on your first hair flattening iron purchase.
